For a large financial services client, we are seeking a Financial Engineer with SQL to work on a long-term project. The Financial Engineer should have strong development skills in Unix scripting, Python, and C++ or equivalent language, as well as working with Big Data or databases.  Financial services experience is a strong asset to this role. 

Required Skills:

  • Background in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Analytics, Forecasting, and/or Software Engineering
  • Experience working with Agile technology development teams to implement internal software systems
  • Strong SQL programming skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a bigger team
  • 4+ years of experience

Desired experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or related or equivalent
  • Finance, Risk Management and Mortgage productions knowledge is preferred
  • Experience in Financial Analysis pertaining to Counterparty Risk Management will be a big plus
  • Skills related to Programming including coding, debugging, and using relevant programming language
  • AWS services, Python/Java
  • Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills and ability to communicate complex topics in a meaningful manner
  • Working with people with different functional expertise respectfully and cooperatively to work toward a common goal
  • Skills related to Influencing including negotiating, persuading others, facilitating meetings, and resolving conflict
